How to Download Google Docs Images

how to download images from google docs

This post will explain how to download images from google docs. Unless you’re trying to download an image from Google Docs, downloading images from websites is a simple task. Simply right-click on the image and select “download.” Google occasionally makes simple tasks more difficult, such as deleting a photo from Google Photos without losing it in local storage. When you right-click on the image in Google Docs, you won’t see a download option. However, there are a few workarounds available; let’s take a look.

How to Download Google Docs Images

In this article, you can know about how to download images from google docs here are the details below;

You can simply take a screenshot and crop out the image, whether you’re on your phone or at your computer. However, the image quality will be limited. So, if you want to download images without sacrificing quality, here are some options.

1.      Save to Google Keep first.

On a computer browser, open the Google Docs that contains the image you want to download. To open the context menu, select the image and right-click it. Select “Save to Keep” from the drop-down menu.

It will bring up a small Google Keep interface, with your image displayed. To download an image, simply right-click it in the right pane.

2. By publishing the document available on the internet

Another option for downloading a Google docs image is to publish it to the web. Open the image-containing document, select File from the top menubar, and then publish to the web.

In the pop-up, click the Publish button. If your document contains private or sensitive information, I would advise against using this method. Once you’ve downloaded your desired images, remember to stop publishing them.

Right-click the image and save it to your computer after opening the generated link.

After you’ve finished, you can disable publishing to prevent unauthorized access to the document. Stop publishing by going to File> Publish to Web > Published content and settings > Stop Publishing.

3. Save it as an HTML

If you have a lot of images in Google Docs, saving the document as an HTML file is a great way to get them all at once. When you open the document, go to File> Download > Web Page (HTML).

A zip archive will be downloaded to your computer automatically. You’ll find an images folder after extracting the File.

The images folder contains all of the images that were automatically downloaded from the google doc.

4. Use of the Image Extractor Add-on.

In Google Docs, open any document. Select Add-ons > Get Add-ons from the top menu.

Install the Google Docs Add-on Image Extractor and Remover by searching for it.

After installing the add-on, go back to Add-ons > Image Extractor and Remover > Don’t Remove, Save to Drive. The images will be saved to the Google Drive account associated with your account.

You can find the image on Google Drive and download it there.

5. Request the desktop version on your phone

On the phone, this is the only way to download images from Google Docs. Open your smartphone’s browser, go to Google Docs, and select the desktop site option from the menu. Now, choose one of the four methods listed above.

The only caveat is that once you’ve installed the Google Docs app, you won’t be able to open it in the browser. As a result, you must either uninstall the app or open Docs in incognito mode.

Final Thoughts

It’s odd that a simple feature like saving an image is missing from Google Docs. While most people recommend simply taking a screenshot and cropping it, this reduces the image’s quality to the point where it is no longer usable. However, if you use the methods outlined above, you can download the image in its entirety. What are your thoughts on these approaches? Please let me know in the comments section below.
