The sales movies is notoriously difficult to break into. It’s not for the faint of heart, and it necessitates a degree of devotion and dedication that many people lack. However, if you’re prepared to put in the effort,
Sales movies are great in that they teach salespeople on how to sell. They also assist salesmen in their learning of how to close deals.
Although sales movies can help you learn how to sell, most salespeople aren’t interested in watching one. They’d rather watch a movie about something else instead.
That’s why I’ve put up a list of 15 sales movies that every salesperson should see. [WARNING: SPOILER] These movies will teach you how to sell while also showing you how to make a sale. This way, you won’t have to worry about being sold the movie.
The All-Time Best-Selling Films
Death of A Salesman
Sales movies are a great approach to learn from people who have achieved sales success. The finest ones teach us important lessons about selling and life.
Death of a Salesman, written by Arthur Miller, is one of the most well-known sales movies. Willy Loman is a salesman whose dreams of prosperity are destroyed when his wife marries another man.
He loses everything he possesses, including his home and car, as a result.
This movie has become a classic because it shows how failure can cause us to lose our self-esteem and confidence. Even though we haven’t done anything wrong, we can feel like failures.
Biff Tannen, played by Lee Marvin, can also learn us a thing or two. He’s a bully who gets what he wants by intimidation. He doesn’t give a damn if he hurts anyone else in the process.
He does, however, learn a valuable lesson about himself and realises that he must change his ways.
The Wolf of Wall Street
One of my favourite sales movies is The Wolf of Wall Street. Jordan Belfort, a stockbroker who gains millions of dollars through unlawful means, is played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Belfort develops a compulsion to amass more money than others around him. He steals money from clients, lies to them, and takes medications to achieve this purpose.
Belfort eventually goes too far, and he is apprehended. He returns to work after serving time in prison and makes money through unlawful means.
This movie gives us an insight into the mind of someone who just thinks about themselves. They don’t give a damn about their friends or family. They are determined to make money at all costs.
One of the greatest films ever created is The Godfather. Francis Ford Coppola directed the film, which starred Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, and James Caan.
It tells the story of Vito Corleone, a New York City mob boss. Michael, Fredo, and Sonny are his three sons. When dad dies, he believes they should take over the family business.
Michael, on the other hand, refuses to follow with his father’s intentions. Instead, he wants to start his own business. It causes him and his father to have problems.
Michael eventually kills his brother Fredo, yet he must still pay the price for his crime. Michael ends over the family business at the end of the movie.
This film is jam-packed with leadership lessons. For example, we observe that there are people when you must stand firm against others who want to tell you what to do. You are free to disagree with them, but you must respect their viewpoints.
You must set clear expectations for your employees if you are in charge. Make certain they understand exactly how things should be done.
If you want to be a leader, you must lead by example. Don’t be swayed by others’ people. If someone asks you to do anything immoral, be strong enough to say “no.”
Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland Athletics baseball team, utilises innovative ways to turn his team into a contender in the film Moneyball. He seeks out undervalued athletes who he believes will outperform expectations.
Beane also selects scouts who aren’t scared to challenge the status quo. These scouts assist him in identifying talented athletes who may otherwise go undiscovered.
Peter Brand is one of these scouts, and he helps Beane in identifying Manny Ramirez, an unknown player. Beane decides to sign Ramirez because he believes he can play first base.
Ramirez turns out to be a great bat, and after signing him, the A’s win the World Series.
Even though baseball isn’t exactly like real life, this movie shows that some ideas are universal. This movie can learn you improve your company if you’re looking for ideas.
You might believe, for example, that purchasing new equipment is a waste of money. However, it may provide you with a competitive advantage over your competition.
You might think it’s a good idea to hire expensive experts. Using free online resources, on the other hand, could save you a lot of money.
The Social Netwok
Mark Zuckerberg builds Facebook while attending Harvard University in The Social Network. He meets Eduardo Saverin, who subsequently comes up with the idea for the website.
Saverin eventually bought Zuckerberg’s part of the company for $1 billion. After that, he founded Instagram, a new company.
Saverin has a strained relationship with Zuckerberg. He thinks he is being treated unfairly. Saverin agrees to sell his shares back to Zuckerberg for only $100 million when Zuckerberg asks for additional money.
Saverin feels deceived by Zuckerberg and regrets selling his shares so fast. He eventually filed a fraud lawsuit against Zuckerberg.
This movie shows how friends do not always treat each other decently. It also teaches us to fight back when someone tries to take advantage of us.
The Pursuit of Happiness
Chris Gardner in The Pursuit of Happiness aspires to be a professional sales movies basketball player. His father has been advising him to work in more effort in school.
So when he hears a college scout is coming to watch him play, he takes the opportunity. Regrettably, he ends an injury during practise.
After that, he realises that playing basketball isn’t going to make him a lot of money. As a result, he drops out of school and relocates to New York City to follow his goal.
He takes a job as a hotel security guard. He then works odd jobs till he can find job as a personal trainer.
He eventually rises to the position of wealthy businessman. Following that, he writes a book on his experiences. This movie shows that no matter how hard we try sales movies, things may not always turn out the way we want.
However, if we continue to work hard, we will be able to achieve our objectives.
‘The Big Kahuna
Eddie Murphy plays the title character in The Big Kahuna. He’s a retired pro surfer who now lives in Hawaii.
He has to return to San Diego after losing everything in a surfing accident. He runs across an old acquaintance, Jimmy Buffett, there.
Buffett persuades him to start his own restaurant. They opened “Chez L’Ami,” a restaurant.
Murphy makes a lot of money as the proprietor of the restaurant. He does, however, miss surfing. So he buys a boat and sets off to explore the world in quest of waves.
This movie shows that we should not be frightened to follow our dreams. All we need is self-confidence.
The Secret Life Walter Mitty
Ben Stiller plays the title character in The Secret Life of Walter Mitt Romney. Walter is a kind young man who enjoys watching movies.
He spends the majority of his time at his neighbourhood video store watching movies. He sees a movie called The Adventures of Robin Hood one day. It brings back memories of his boyhood excursions. As a result, he decides to make a new story out of those recollections.
He imagines himself as Walter Mitty, a hero. He rescues people in perilous situations and solves problems. Walter develops this alternate life because he is dissatisfied with his current one. He enjoys pretending to be someone else.
This movie shows how imagination may assist us in escaping reality.
Tom Cruise plays the title character in Jerry Maguire. Jerry is an ad executive who despises his job.
He’s dissatisfied because he’s married to Renee Zellweger. She is a well-known actress who receives millions of dollars for each film she appears in. Jerry is baffled as to why she continues to act like a diva. As a result, he begins to have affairs with her co-stars.
He meets a stunning model named Elle MacPherson one night. He falls head over heels in love with her immediately away sales movies. She’s also in a relationship with another man. So Jerry uses his clout to persuade her to end their relationship.
Then he tells he’ll go to any length to win her love. He even tries to undermine her professional life. Finally, he succeeds in persuading her to change her mind. They end up falling in love.
This movie shows that it is often better to give than to get. You might find someone wonderful if you’re ready to put yourself out there.
Love and Other Drugs
Owen Wilson plays the title role in Love and Other Drugs. David Bloom is his name. He is a drug addict who is a college student.
David’s parents are no longer married. His father abandoned him when he was a child. His mother, on the other hand, is too preoccupied with raising their three children to pay much attention to him.
David is addicted to marijuana and uses it on a regular time. He feels depressed from time to time. He feels cheerful at other times.
He has moments when he thinks he wants to die. Other times, he feels compelled to take more pills. He meets a girl named Sarah Tobias one day. She works at a coffee shop and is a drug addict.
Sarah helps David in quitting his habit. She then asks if he’s ever considered dropping out of school to work for her full-time. David concurs. He drops out of school and works as her personal assistant.
Sarah teaches life lessons to him. She motivates him to return to school. She also helps him in obtaining his GED.
This movie shows what it means to follow your dreams. It’s not always necessary to wait till youstart older to begin living.
The Big Short
Christian Bale plays the title character in The Big Short. Michael Burry, a stockbroker, is his name.
Since graduating from university, Michael has been working hard hours. He’s fed up with being broke. As a result, he decides to put his money into mortgage bonds. These bonds were produced by banks in order to make loans sales movies.
However, a large number of them failed. They were unable to collect sufficient funds to reimburse the investors. As a result, Michael deduces sales movies that these bonds are worthless. He persuades his boss to allow him to short-sell the company.
Borrowing shares from a broker is short selling. You repurchase them when the price reduces. You then put them on the open market to sell. You keep the difference when the price rises again. You can earn without putting any money at risk this way.
Michael purchases tens of thousands of shares. He then turns around and sells them to brokers. As a result, the price falls. He repurchases the shares at a lower price when the price falls. This is how he makes a lot of money.
This movie shows how financial markets can implode. It also shows people who are not scared to take chances.

Cadillac Man is one of the best sales movies of all time. Another masterclass from Robin Williams. It tells the story of a salesman who is dismissed after selling his boss a non-working car.
He subsequently goes on to sell a living selling automobiles. Along the journey, he shows several challenges, like dealing with a demanding customer and finding love, as depicted in the movie.
It’s easy to be inspired by this film and want to follow in his footsteps. However, rather than just watching the movie, if you want to learn from his experience, you should try to watch his behaviours.
Instead of trying to sell a car to someone who isn’t interested in buying it, you may ask them a series of questions to see whether they’re interested.
This method would help you to establish a rapport with potential customers, which is essential when selling something. It’s also a lot better tactic than pressuring someone into buying something they don’t want.
Tommy Boy is an outstanding sales film since it is set in a realistic environment. The story is based on genuine events.
Tommy Walker is the primary character. He works for a company called “Walker Electric” as a salesman. His job is to find new customers.

In either case, watching Tommy Boy will almost certainly help you. You’ll be inspired to overcome your own problems after seeing how he did so.
To summarise, salesmen have a lot of tools at their disposal, but the majority of us aren’t efficiently utilising them. We have a tendency to trust our intuition too much, which means we strive to close sales when we should be focusing on developing connections.
However, if you want to improve your sales skills, you must first grasp the psychology of why people buy and sell. That’s where movies come into play.
They demonstrate just what we require in order to improve our abilities. So sit down and watch a movie while taking notes. Then, using what you’ve learned from the movie, apply it to your own sales process.
